So, a few days ago I read a post on Gina's blog (Owen's sister) that said she had found the perfect wheat bread recipe. We have made it a couple times now, and it is delicious! It is light and chewy and is so so yummy. So, here is the recipe so you can try it too.
Homemade Wheat Bread
1 cup warm water (110-115 degrees F.)
1 tablespoon milk
2 tablespoons oil
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 cup whole-wheat flour
1 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons dry yeast
Put all ingredients in the bread machine in the order listed. Set on dough cycle. When dough cycle is finished, take dough out and shape into a loaf in a greased bread pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 20-45 minutes (until doubled). Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
This recipe can be made without a bread machine also. Just let the yeast and water mix first, then add the liquids and part of the flour. Then the salt and the rest of the flour. Let it rise in a bowl while covered for an hour. Then take dough out and shape into a loaf in a greased bread pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 20-45 minutes (until doubled). Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
We hope you like it as much as we do.
